Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues,
On Sunday, September 9, 2018, I will be at the Susan G. Komen Greater NYC Race for the Cure, running alongside thousands of New Yorkers who believe in one mission: no one should die from breast cancer.
Participating in the 2018 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is about more than just a walk in the park. While the race is one day a year, for women and families dealing with breast cancer, the fight is every day. Finding a cure is an ongoing effort.
Year by year, the efforts of fundraisers save lives. The money we raise helps provide breast cancer screening, treatment, education and outreach for local women who would not otherwise receive care. We are also funding national breast cancer research programs that will lead us to the cures. The New York City area still has one of the highest breast cancer mortality rates in the nation and together, we can do more.
So I’m turning to you in hopes that even a small donation can make a big difference. All donations will be matched by Barclays by the same amount.
For the third year in a row of participating in this event, I have set myself an ambitious finish time and fundraising target: I aim to complete the 5k run in 20 minutes, and pledge to donate $1 for every second that I miss this goal.
Please join me on this journey.
Thank you very much for your generous support!
